Mikael Jorgensen and I recently returned from co-teaching 45 students how to make photo animations and remix audio over the course of a 2 week workshop at Stanford University.
Each student was required to make 8 seconds of animation in Photoshop and 8 seconds of audio in Ableton Live. We broke the class into 2 groups with 2 themes, Underwater and Outerspace and then strung their work together to make 2 music videos. The first culled images from NOAA and the second from NASA (both archives being public domain). The original audio was Strauss' Also Sprach Zarathustra (think 2001 a Space Odyssey). Fun was had by all and we are proud to present the results below.
